It was a great day yesterday at the inaugural ACT Conference in Nottingham. I understand that you can do all the planning and research in the world, but there are lots of things you can’t control or predict. But we were oversubscribed and forced to turn people away and the atmosphere in the room was extremely buzzy.

Lots of old friends of course and it is always good to meet up again - but lots of new faces too. From my point of view (and when you are up on stage it is sometimes difficult to judge), we had some excellent contributions from our speakers – including Peter Ibbetson, the Chairman of Small Business at the Royal Bank of Scotland Group and well known entrepreneur Rachel Elnaugh.  With over 100 delegates, there was a very high level of networking and participation, and universal agreement that we were filling a gap which needs filling. And of course one appreciates the endorsement of the lead RDA for enterprise - emda.

It was an important step along the road to present the first handful of membership certificates and more applications were received on the day. So we are on our way.  As I said at the end, we are embarking on a journey, and we are inviting enterprise support professionals of any discipline to join us.  It will be an exciting ride!
