Over 110 organisations are part of the NFEA network - represented in over 200 locations across England. In 2008 alone, the NFEA network of enterprise support organisations supported over 100,000 pre starts, nearly 25,000 start ups and 130,000 established businesses - totalling over 250,000 clients across the country.
Membership of NFEA is open to any organisations that have a primary or major objective to support potential, new and existing small and medium sized enterprises. There are various categories of membership available for organisations who wish to join the network depending on which criteria they fill.
NFEA members also have the opportunity to register as a BIS Approved Enterprise Agency, the process for which NFEA manages on behalf of the Secretary of State, Trade & Industry. As a BIS Approved Enterprise Agency, tax relief can be claimed on contributions (whether cash or in-kind) to an approved local enterprise agency by a sponsor carrying on a trade, profession or vocation.
